Deadline Extended

The Deadline has been extended to December 31st 2014

There’s still time to participate in the Dance4Peace on Earth Movie: Part 2. We’ve decided to release multiple versions of the movie, because of the responses we’ve received from different parts of the world. The U.S. version will come out during December, and the international versions will be released after the first of the new year (Jan. 1).

If you want to be a part of this, you still have time! Submit your videos, photos, and information by December 31st 2014 and we will include you in the version being released in January 2015.

Use the Contact page or Join page to write and let us know you will be sending in your materials.

Peace!

The Dance4Peace on Earth: Part 2 trailer is out on YouTube!

You can go our channel on YouTube, or you can see it on our WATCH page, at this link.

This new project is “open source” and completely collaborative. We – meaning Dance Alchemy – have danced the first minute or so. The rest of the soundtrack is open for you to:

•  Choreograph

• Dance

• Remake or remix the music

Dance your dance! Play your music! Send us videos and recordings, and we will add them to the final movie. Deadline for submissions is December 1st 2014. The final movie will be released later in December. This is going to be great!

New How-To Page added

Curious about how to participate in Dance4Peace on Earth: Part II?

We just created and posted a new “How To” page, now available from the main menu of this site.

Dance4Peace Part II Starts Now

This is August 1st, 2014, the official starting day for Dance4Peace on Earth: Part II.

We’re creating another movie, this time with a twist: YOU can be the choreographer!

How it Works:  In a few weeks, we will release a “starter movie,” along with the new soundtrack. In the first part of the movie, we will show you our moves. The rest of the movie is open for you to choreograph your dance. Pick any part of the song and create a dance for that part. Then make a video of yourself doing your dance and send it in. Then we will take all the videos from everyone and combine them into a fresh, new movie!

Are you a peace-maker? Love to dance? Join now and let us send you more info about how you can be a part of the next Dance4Peace movie! Click on this link to join up, OR if you are already a member you can write to tell us you want to be in this movie, too!

Come and Dance4Peace – again!

It’s Here! The Movie is out!

After six months of planning, dancing, collecting dances from others, and editing them all together, the first Dance4Peace on Earth movie is finally out! WOO HOO!

Here is the link to the movie, which is on our Watch page: click here.

We are so full of gratitude for everyone who joined, who watched, who danced, who sent in pictures & poems, and to everyone who wrote encouraging emails. Thank you, one and all!

So why do we say the “first movie?” Because we have decided to keep going and make more!

Originally, this was a one-movie project. Along the way, however, we met people from around the world who loved the idea. When we asked them if they wanted to keep going, the answer was overwhelmingly YES! So that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Our cute and energetic Production Assistant is making a series of videos to encourage our members. You can catch them from the Dance Alchemy Facebook page, or take a look at a sample here:

We will work with you to make your OWN peace movie, starring you! Together with you, we will combine photos, videos, and your own voice to make a professional quality movie with your own peace message for the world. You can keep it, show it to your friends, put it on YouTube, or anything you like. It will be YOURS.

Details:  The total length will be 3-4 minutes long. We will work with you to get photos, help you make videos online, and make a script so it all comes together. We can record you online, live, over Skype, or you can use our new Record page to do it yourself. The final product will be a video you can keep and use as you wish, with your own peace message for the world, your life story, and so on. We will send you more details if you are one of the 10.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dance?

Guess Where and Guess Who!

Flag-block-200w-D4P-MCThe global Dance4Peace on Earth project is growing every day, as dancers sign up to submit their videos. Six new countries are represented as of this week, and their flags are in this image. Do you recognize them?

GUESS WHERE

From the top, and then left/right on down:

Macedonia
India… Papua New Guinea
Pakistan… Somalia
and Samoa.

Bhutan continues to be the country with the most total dancers signed up. However, Tunisia and Nepal are now tied for second place, with Morocco and Venezuela close behind.

GUESS WHO?D4P-Joiners-GuessBlock-4-MC

Some of our new dancers are professionals, performing in their own countries. Others just like to dance for fun. In the picture here, you see six faces. One of our Dance4Peace dancers appears in her traditional dance costume and makeup. In her own country, she’s won awards and received accolades for her classical dances.

So which of the other five pictures is of her without her special costume and makeup?

From top left and clockwise, the pictures are of [Mystery Dancer], Vasilka, Nadia, Madhuchhanda, Pooja, and Khaoula. Who is the Mystery Dancer?

Have you figured it out yet?

Yes?  No?

. . . . . . . .

Answer: Look in the lower right-hand corner, and say hello to Madhuchhanda from Calcutta! That is her, in the upper lefthand corner, in one of her special dance costumes. Amazing!

For extra credit: Where are the women from? What countries?

🙂
