The Idea:
We are making a city-wide dance movie to showcase Baltimore’s dancers, musicians, and artists of all kinds expressing their desire for peace in our city. This is about all of us, from everywhere, coming together. We made the starter movie, but the final – to be released in November – will include many more people. This is your time to shine!
So here are the steps for you to be in the next movie, Dance4Peace: Baltimore
The plan is for all of us – whoever wants to participate – to make their own videos, and then we will edit the best parts into one final movie. Here is a picture of how the movie will flow, to help you understand:
STEP ONE:
Watch the starter video, which we released on March 29th, 2016. Think about which part of the song inspires you to dance.
STEP TWO:
Create your own dance to go with some part of the song (the soundtrack). We will also make the soundtrack available for download so you can practice off-line. If you are in the local area, we could come meet with you to see how it’s going.
STEP THREE:
Make videos of your dance. Take photos of your dance. We can use both. Also, if you are in the Baltimore area, we could come to where you are and film you. If you are a musician, you could remix some or all of the soundtrack and submit that.
STEP FOUR:
Send us your videos and photos. You can use email, Google Drive, or whatever method works best for you. If you need help to figure this out, write to us or call us. Whether you are doing this yourself or having us help, you have until September 30th, 2016.
STEP FIVE:
We edit all your videos together with ours, and make Dance4Peace: Baltimore – Dance Where Your Heart Is. When it is released,, the whole world can watch and see you dancing for peace in Baltimore, along with many others.
